Soft brush house washing

Date Posted : February 29, 2020

Well i think we are finally seeing the end of winter. Yes it's just around the corner. We always get excited about spring and we are slowly getting outside and walking around the house with anticipation of fixing this or that . A lot of questions are asked to me about how to wash the vinyl siding properly to get the best out of your house washing experience. It's always important i reply to get a little bit of understanding of how it's done and why it's cleaned in a certain way. There are many different types of house exteriors, such as vinyl siding, stucco, hardy plank, aluminum siding, wood siding just to name the most common. Each of these exterior finishes require a different process for cleaning. We do a lot of vinyl siding cleaning as that is one of the most popular exteriors on houses in B.C. We recommend you do not use a pressure washer to clean the siding. The reason for that is water under pressure can penetrate under the siding and cause water damage under the siding. The water does not dry easily once it has gone behind the siding, creating a possibility for mould. Also the vinyl siding has a manufacturers clear coating/sealant on it and high pressure removes this coating and makes the siding look and feel chalky. The best way to clean all the dirt and green off the siding is to apply a great cleaning solution and then use a soft brush to clean the really stubborn/dirty areas. Then it's a simple rinse with the garden hose and you will see the results instantly. Safe, no risk of water damage and peace of mind it's done right. Give us a call for any questions you may have.
